Raptor Foundation

There is plenty to do at the Raptor Foundation.

There will be plenty to do during the School holiday at The Raptor Foundation in Woodhurst. A Family ticket 2 adults and upto 3 children £17.60.

The Raptor Foundation originally known as Ramsey Raptor Rescue was established in 1989. Over the next five years it grew rapidly and soon housed over one hundred birds of prey. It was decided it was time to move. After considerable searching a new site was found near St Ives and we moved to our present home in 1996.

This venture started with a single bird called Boris, a young disabled Tawny owl. Numbers of injured birds arriving at their door grew over the coming years and some of them are still with us today including good old Boris.

We still continue to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome injured wild birds and unwanted pets. We currently house over 200 birds of prey comprising of over 40 different species, from a Little owl to a 40 year old Golden Eagle.

We are open to the public, you can get up close and even fly some of the birds in one of our three daily flying displays at 12, 2 & 4pm.. Enjoy lunch in our Silent Wings tearoom, browse around our Mad about Owls gift shop and for the children there is a playground and pond where they can feed the fish. Other attractions on site are: St Ives Photo, Polka Dotts Giftware, Bobb n Sew not forgetting the Animal Experience so a visit to us gives you more than just the birds. Bring a picnic and stay longer.

Gift vouchers available for Experience Days, Twilight flying, Photographic days  and Accommodation stays.
