Raising Funds for RAFA – The OMG HAIG Ride 2017

On 18 Jul 17, the Station Commander and representatives of the Pathfinders Motorcycle Club (PMCC) welcomed The OMG Haig Ride 2017 to RAF Wyton.

Miss Carolyn Hayward

The ride was being carried out by Stuart Morrisey an ex-RAF Chef who is now registered disabled on his trusty Honda CBF 125cc motorbike with L-plates and covered over 2,500 miles visiting various RAF bases and museums around England and Scotland. Stuart aka ‘Madrider’ started doing charity rides in 2004 and since then has raised over £72,000 for various charities.

This year’s ride over 10 days was to raise funds for RAFA via bucket collections or donations to his justgiving page -https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/omghaigride2017

After the Station welcome, Stuart collected the unit stamp on his records and PMCC members hosted him during a welcome break for a coffee and a chat.

After that he was on his way heading to Duxford and RAF Marham before spending the night near Norwich. Stuart has since completed his ride and is now enjoying a well-earned rest while already planning the next one.
